“Ashithi Abhiman” (1946–2026): A Grand Celebration of Legacy and Devotion

Hanwella Rajasinghe Central College proudly marked its historic 80th Anniversary alongside the sacred 2026 Vesak Week celebrations with “Ashithi Abhiman”, a spectacular cultural parade that brought together the school’s rich heritage and spiritual devotion.

Tracing its roots back to 1946, the College celebrated eight decades of educational excellence. To honor this landmark milestone and commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha, our students, staff, and alumni organized a magnificent cultural procession (Perahera).

The event featured a vivid array of traditional artistic displays, including:

• Traditional Cultural Dancers: Elegant performances reflecting our deep-rooted Sri Lankan heritage.
• Devotional Music & Chants: Uplifting melodies that filled the air with peace and serenity.
• Creative Floats (Pradarshana): Beautifully crafted displays illuminating the timeless values of Vesak.

“Ashithi Abhiman” was not just a parade, but a profound reflection of the pride, unity, and cultural value that define Hanwella Rajasinghe Central College. It stood as a beautiful tribute to our past and an inspiring beacon for the future generations of Rajasinghians.
